How To Figure Out What Makes You Happy

Oh hey there,

I’m Sarah Von Bargen.

Want to look at your calendar and your bank statement and think “Yup, I made awesome choices”? I’ll show you how to spend your time, money, and energy on purpose.

Web Time Wasters

As you read this, I’m in Costa Rica leading a group for my friend’s retreat company, Fit & Fly Girl. So lucky, right?

I think it’s really important to be forthcoming in situations like this, situations where someone fills their Instagram feed with beautiful, expensive-looking experiences. It’s SO EASY to look at that stuff and feel less-than. It’s so easy to think “Why don’t I look like that/own that/experience that?!”

So I’d like to say:

  • I’m literally working. Like, this is a contracted job.
  • When you see photos of the swanky place I’m staying or the cool things I’m doing, obviously I didn’t pay for any of that.

I wish more people were honest about things like this! Talking about money is a gift to everyone around you!

If you’d like to see photos of beaches, coconuts, and me taking my first ever surfing lesson (!!!) you can follow along on Instagram.

New Things: Go To A Batting Cage

Each year I make a list of new things I want to try.  Some are easy, some are hard, some are shockingly mundane.  You can read about past adventures here.   Have you guys ever had an unshakeable sense that you're going to be good at something? And this belief is based on, well, nothing?Despite a total lack of evidence, I'm fairly sure I'd be really good (re: not terrible) at: 1. batting...
